Gulf Medal Full Size With 16th January Bar Ribbon Emblem Required?:MID Oakleaf Not required Instituted in 1918 alongside theAwarded for seven days continuous service between 16th January 1991 and 28th February 1991 in the theatre of operations outlined below: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Gulf of Oman, North West Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, the Gulf and the Red Sea, or One operational combat sortie or eight sorties in the Arabian Peninsular Flight Information Regions by air transport crews. A silver rose emblem is worn on the riband
