The paintings is surrounded by blue guillouche enamel with a beaded edge surrounding. This navette shape and style is known for its popularity in the 1780s. The back is so beautifully engraved, Ann Dashwood ob 6 March 1782 Aet 29. The scene is accented with gold and seed pearls.
