上海灘小姐為作者旅居港澳時取得的某服裝型錄，該品牌以早期上海衣著為藍本，力主高檔時尚市場。 作者刻意使用彩虹絨毛布料取代主角的亞洲血肉、並用假鑽假珠為素色裙面創造絢麗效果，嘗試創造一種假到不行的坎普(camp)美學。

藝術家運用蕾絲、蝴蝶蘭、紅絨帶為靈感來創作。蕾絲，是一種以繁複精緻的，鏤空花紋為特點的織品，以紗線相互打結、交錯、撚繞來創造各式花樣，就有如我們的人生，在錯綜複雜與高低起伏中編織美麗人生。在蕾絲上又長出了蝴蝶蘭，象徵了愛與幸福的伴隨，而紅絨帶又連接著每一朵花，代表了人生中每個階段的連結。
